5 Good Things About Splatoon So Far!

Ah, a last minute entry right before I head out to the wilderness with no WiFi to be harassed by raccoon's  for a few days. Seriously though, I love camping. Anyways. I never really thought much of Splatoon cause I heard of it first trough the "Your a squid now! Your a kid now! Your a squid your a kid your a squid noow" crap. But I saw Gaijin Goombah, one of my favorite YouTubers, play Splatoon on a stream, and I was in love. I loved the cool theme and the concept of Turf War was a lot more interesting then most shooters in my opinion. I was originally going to make another 5 Good / 5 Bad Splatoon entry, but I could only find like three bad, all the others are easily fixable and minor. I will however mention now the lack of difference between each map, and the fact that we need more maps soon, or were going to get bored.

5 Good Things About Splatoon So Far!

1. The singleplayer is awesome. I was listening to Gaijin talk about it, and he liked it. and honestly, whereas I may have enjoyed playing multiplayer more then singleplayer, watching singleplayer is more fun then watching multiplayer. At least until we get more maps. The singleplayer blends platformer and shooter well, even if the enemies are easy as hell.

2. The community is awesome. /r/splatoon got subreddit of the day a few days ago.

3. Miiverse Compatibility and Graffiti! Have you seen some of the "Graffiti" which players have made using the Miiverse feature. It's really cool, it's like the pictures people draw in Miiverse but actually put into the game in a unique way which fits into the style. And the community got creative.

A fellow Gaijin Goomba fan made that one! It really shows how creative this game is.
4. This picture sums up my fourth point pretty well.

5. This video by GameXplain! New maps, and weapons! 2 of the maps are Bluefin Depot and Kelp Dome! Bluefin is level 20 and Kelp Dome is mission 8! New guns as well!

Anyways, from Graffiti to the new maps, Splatoon has become a hit, and hopefully it will continue that way. Need more Splatoon? Check all this out for your Ink Fix:

Ah, sorry for not posting anything yesterday. I was watching Gaijin Goombah's stream of Splatoon, and was writing some scripts for YouTube videos. I am going camping so I won't be able to post from Sunday till Wednesday. I am also lookng into getting an artist to draw me up a Koopa Punk, so I can use that character as well...my image, for this and Social Medias, as well as the YouTubes. See ya in the next blog!

10 Reasons To Look Forward To The Next Zelda Installment

In celebration of my 100th Pageview on my second day, I present 10 Reasons To Look Forward To The Next Zelda Installment!


1. This.


2. It will be the least linear Zelda installment in a long time, showing a complete open world concept.

3. I think the Wii U Gamepad acting like it did in Windwaker HD for Wii U was fun. Imagine this with the open world, it should be great!

4. A vibrant art style similar to Skyward sword! I don't even need to explain why that will be great!

5. The world has been said to be large to travel on foot through completely using Link. Get ready for the return of Epona!

6. Link is blue. Hey, I was running out of reasons from the limited info we have, cut me some slack!

7. In both of the trailers we have. the Bow takes center stage. Before I even noticed Link was blue, I saw his amazing bow and how awesome it looked.

8. The Gamepad should be a main focus due to the main screen not having anything besides hearts and a green bar.

9. We can get a better Link Amiibo. The Super Smash Bros. one was meh in my opinion.

10. There are multiple kinds of arrows. At one part in the trailer, we see a flaming explosivey kind of arrow, and then a blue energy charged arrow which looks amazing.

Doctor Robotnik vs. Bowser

Evil genius who wants to rule the world, or Koopa King? Today we look at who would...
a) Win in a fight
b) Has been more influential to gaming
c) Is a smarter villain
d) Has more hatred towards the hero
e) Is truly eviler

I came up with this idea while watching this animation on Newgrounds. So, lets dive right into this one.

BOOZER

Okay, so Bowser is for sure the fan favorite here. In terms of his strength, Bowser could take Eggman easy if it weren't for Robuttnik's inventions. Most of Robotnik's inventions are fine with fire, so Bowser really doesn't have much of an advantage. Also, Robotnik's minions are better. So in this category, I really have to go Eggman. Here's why.

ROBUTTNIK

Oh god, he's real. Robuttnik does most of his fighting with his inventions, and Bowser charges going all out which lets Mario take him down. Robotnik could easily use his machines to take advantage of Bowser's weaknesses. Also, using Chaos Emerald powered machines he could just blast him away. It's simple, really. Also, for those of you saying he loses to Sonic at the end of chapter, that's cause Sonic is a lot stronger. And it's just a development choice the Sonic Team made to put Robotnik at the end of each chapter. Overall, Robotnik wins in this category.

BOWSER

Now, I am pretty sure every single one of you know who is more influential to gaming. Bowser, that's just because he is more popular, and kids actually like him and think he is more of a badass, except he actually is a lot dumber and weaker then Eggman. So it's no surprise Bowser wins, as everybody knows him. Also, he is stereotypically evil looking. He isn't the tantrum-throwing nerdy evil Robotnik is, he's more of a powerful evil. He's just like the template for Video games everywhere.

ROBOTNIK
George Lucas is Dr Robotnik :o
Sorry, but when your fat bald and probably spend your nights playing Dungeons and Dragons with robots you made, your just not as influential as the a Fire-breathing badass turtle. Sorry.

BAEZER

So, your Castles have so many easily exploited weaknesses that end up killing you every time you kidnap some girl, only for her to be saved by a Fat italian plumber. Not exactly the smartest. Also, have you ever thought about ordering your Koopas to kill Mario, before kidnapping Peach to marry her and become King of the Mushroom Kingdom. Oh, and don't have Lava floors in your castle. Has it ever helped you, once?

ROBOTNIK

Shown to have an extremely high IQ, as well as making merciless droids such as Metal Sonic who can catch up to Sonic, Eggman takes home the prize in this category, being far more intelligent. Also, Eggman has come a lot closer to taking over the world then Bowser ever has. Right now, it's 2-1 Eggman.

KOOPA KING

Whereas Eggman's plans are normally ruined by Sonic's band of Freedom Fighters, it's normally just Mario and his Bro saving Peach and foiling his plans, making Bowser harbor more hatred just for Mario. Bowser also sees himself as a hero, whereas Eggman just wants power. Bowser sees Mario as a villain, which means Bowser hates Mario more.

ROBOTNIK
 
Robotnik is an emperor who is constantly struggling with a band of Rebels known as the Freedom Fighter. He harbors all his hate to all of them, not just Sonic. Bowser really hates Mario, seeing him as a villain. Somebody who always stops him from removing corruption from the Mushroom Kingdom.

BOWSER
Bowser has morals, which makes him not completely evil. Therefore, this one is handed over to Eggman. All I need to say.

EGGMAN 
He only cares about power for himself, whereas Bowser wants to help the Koopas. Eggman is eviler, he is also more determined and is bent on world domination by any means.

**Some of the knowledge about Bowser seeing himself as a hero is just how I picture it in my mind. Some points are also just what I think. not 100% fact.

The PS4 vs. XBOX One Console War - Has it already been won?

So, has the Console War already been won? I mean, it hasn't been that long since the XBox One and PS4 were released, but with Sony's newest PlayStation selling over 20.2 units sold in March 2015, compared to the 10 Million of the XBOX One. Even the SEGA Genesis vs. SNES Console War was tighter then this, and that was new brand facing the Nintendo giant. This is just...sad, almost. What went wrong with the XBOX One?

The first trailer for the XBOX One didn't even show a single video game. If I'm not mistaken, it was about somebody watching the NFL on there XBOX. I have said before that Nintendo focused too much on games, not entertainment, but Microsoft focused on other forms of entertainment, and barely on gaming. The PlayStation found the perfect balance.

To watch streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu, you needed to purchase XBOX Live Gold. The Wii U was better about it then that...my god. Microsoft saw the negative outcry about the XBOX being an entertainment system, the next trailer was all games, which confused people more then ever. But the damage was done. The XBOX launch was doomed. However, that's not the only reason the console failed.

The next reason, is that the graphics just...weren't as great. It's not like the Wii U, where they say they are focusing on fun gameplay over graphics, the XBOX and PS Consoles have always been about the graphics and games. Microsoft abandoned that, and it didn't work out for them. And when you charge 100 dollars more for a console with worse graphics, servers getting shut down constantly, an extra thirty dollars a month to access streaming services like Hulu and Netflix you can only expect to be shut down. The PlayStation sold more, and rightfully so. But lets go back to the question. Is the Console War already won? Can the XBOX One make a comeback? Well...yeah, Sony has won the Console War, and will win the next one as well, dude to Microsoft's bad calls. If Microsoft fixes some things, it can still mke money off of it, but it wont catch up to the PS4, cause that would be a miracle. And they just don't deserve to.

Coolest Nintendo Land Ideas from the Fanbase

I have been gathering some of the greatest ideas for the real Nintendo Land I've seen from te dedicated Nintendo fanbase. In case you weren't aware, Universal and Nintendo signed an agreement, which means a Nintendo minipark like the Harry Potter one in Universal.


6. Mario Kart! - Mario-style Bumper Cars, where you hop into one of the Karts from the Games to bump into people while the character whom your Kart belongs to stands on the Kart in Statue form. While we have no way to do powerups, that's still an awesome idea.

5. Mario Bros. Pipes Drop Tower! - Imagine seeing a gigantic pipe in the middle of Nintendo Land looked like it was ripped straight out of the game. It shows you where the center is, and would be an amazing drop tower ride! It wouldn't be that creative, but the feeling of being on the pipe would be great.

4. Legend of Zelda Dark Ride - You know those indoor attractions where you hop onto a car or something, and watch on a gigantic screen as you move through scenes? Those are called Dark Rides, and they try and immerse you through the world. I would like to see something like what they did inside Hogwarts at Universal, for Zelda. Truly be immersed into Link's world, watch him in his defining moments. That would be really cool. No trains though. Spirit Tracks never should have existed. I mean, I expected to see Thomas the Train Engine as the next boss while I was playing that.

3. Luigi's Mansion Ghost Ride - I live in Canada, and we have this awesome amusement park called Canada's Wonderland, where we have a ride where you have laser guns, which you can point at ghosts to zap. It's a Scooby Doo ride, and at the end Shaggy thanks you and stuff, and you see your points. How easy would that be to make a Luigi's Mansion ride!

2. A Yoshi's Island ride for the kiddies. A small ride where you hop on Yoshi and have fun watching your surroundings like your truly in Yoshi's Island may not be what I would go to ride, but for the younger generation of kids who never grew up with Zelda, it could be entertaining for them. 

1. The Food and Drinks - Here are some ideas from around the internet in terms of Food and Drinks.

Mushroom popsicles such as the normal red one, which has a cherry taste as well as the sweet and mildly sour 1UP mushroom. They can keep all of us not used to Orlando temperatures cool. The roost from Animal Crossing may not be understood by all Theme park-goers, but Nintendo lovers will for sure want it. A Kirby all you can eat buffet! /r/chrisconsiders suggested an Isle Delphinos Tiki Bar would be great, and I agree. And a Bowser/Koopling BBQ!

Board Games Based Off Of Video Games!

Board Games Based Off Of Video Games. Self-explanatory title is self-explanatory.


Street Fighter

In the Street Fighter Board Game, you become one of the famous fighters from the famous franchise, and attempt to add more cards to your deck to give your fighter more power.

You start with a 10-card deck, and expand that by getting new cards. Once you get enough power, you can attempt to defeat a Stage Boss. You can defend yourself from attacks using defense cards, and due to me not having the game, that's about as far as my knowledge goes. However, the fact that there is a Street Fighter Deck-Building Board Game is pretty badass, so you should go check it out.

Legend of Zelda

Nintendo is normally a bit stingy about letting other companies use there brand names. However, when they let it happen, the final product is awesome. Just take Legend of Zelda Monopoly! Cause I mean, who doesn't want to collect Rupees to buy Hyrule? That's just awesome. Chance and Community Chests are replaced by Empty Bottle and Treasure Chests Cards. Here is he ThinkGeek description:

"The land of Link and Zelda is a beautiful place. With its trees and fields bomb shops and... we just want to own it all! And now we can play super-greedy-land-baron(ess) and buy up all of Hyrule and neighboring locales, and then charge our friends tons of cash when they come to visit. Mass Effect

While my favorite Risk adaptation is the Dalek-filled Doctor Who one, that's probably cause I'm not lucky enough to own Mass Effect Risk.

It's Reapers vs. Humans. no surprise there. The Game comes with 242 Custom Pieces for Mass Effect Factions. For all diehard Mass Effect fans, this is a must-have.

Doom

The ancestor of all FPS today, Doom, believe it or not, became a Tabletop Board Game. The game is kind of like Dungeons and Dragons, with one player controlling the monsters. From my understanding, Puzzle Pieces fit together which can create scenarios for the player to go through. Sorry for not making many references, but being a younger gamer, I am only aware of Doom for the path it set for FPS' today, I have not actually played it, sadly.

Hopefully this help add to your blank list of hobbies that aren't gaming.

Also, I want that Zelda Monopoly badly.
