In honor of Canada today, I will show you my best experiences being Canadian in gaming.
1. Canada Day in the Town of Salem
ToS, now available on Steam, is a criminally underrated game which bends the games Mafia and Werewolf. Here is a brief overview:
The goal in Town of Salem depends on your role. If you are a Town member, you must use the ability given to you to lynch every Mafia, Werewolf, Arsonist, Executioner, Witch and soon to be Vampires. If you are a member of the Mafia you need to kill everyone who will oppose you. Werewolf and Arso are the same, and Executioner needs to trick the town into lynching a specific target.
Anyways, this morning I was playing Town of Salem under the alias of Dracula. There were a few people with Canada-specific names such as Tim Hortons, Canada Day, Maple Syrup, and even Don Cherry etc. However, a few people of other nations did not like that idea. So, they started whispering and lynched someone named Happy Canada Day, telling us all to go kill ourselves in an igloo. I, sure enough, was the next one, being lynched 4-2 even though I was the Doctor. I realized these people didn't care about the Mafia or winning, they wanted to make a point. However, an idiot named Hawk told me that he would kill everyone by lynching during the day and stabbing in the night. However, there is a role in ToS called Medium which can talk to the dead. So, apparently he told Happy Canada Day this as well, and the Medium, who was American, but made a point of trying to save us, listened, and lynched Hawk who was the Serial Killer. One person did not apologize for saying the things about Canadians and a Vigilante shot him. The rest did, and the Town went on to win the game, with Hawk raging at the Medium every night. I made sure to add all the friends I made to my Friends List.
That game is actually what inspired me to make this list.
Anyways, you can download Town of Salem on Steam and gain 5 dollars worth of Town Points here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/334230/

2. Mini-Canada in Minecaft
Well, Canadian stereotype jokes aren't hard to come by on the internet. But, sure, the Igloo ones can be a bit annoying but I find myself victim to many of these jokes quite a lot.
Play/Watch Hockey [X]
Love Tim Hortons [X]
Pet Polar Bear [Working on it]
When I said I was Canadian awhile back on a Minecraft server those jokes were the norm. However, unlike the Town of Salem people, these guys loved Canada. This was a small community style server where we all knew the location of everyones houses, and it was just generally fun. But when I get back on after being away, what do I find? My house is transformed into an igloo, there is a Tim Hortons right beside my house, a Mini-Air Canada Center in the distance with a rink and everything, as well as Canadian Flag Banners and Leafs Banners outside my house. I kept it all. It was only when I ventured into my basement I saw a Half-stack of Diamonds in my main chest and redstone arranged to look like Maple Leaves in the others.
3. War of 1812 redone in Injustice
I may not have been directly involved with this one, but I heard it all go down.
I enter a Injustice: Gods Among Us King of the Hill Lobby. Injustice is awesome, by the way, checkout ProJared's review on it. Anyways, I hear talk going around in the Voice chat featuring some very familiar names - Brendan Gallagher, Tyler Bozak, Phil Kessel - They were talking about Hockey! More specifically, the Leafs vs. Habs game which was going to go down soon.
See, this was a special occasion. You don't often hear 2 Sports Fans talking too eachother about things which involve activity in a Superhero Fighting Game Online Match....but it was happening. And they were getting into it with eachother, trash-talking the other's teams. Of course, I was on the Leafs side.

#LeafsNation
It was all friendly, but it went on for a long time. Finally, someone else joined in, and he spat out Canadian jokes left and right. Some were funny, some offensive. He ended his jokes with "Your all good for nothing, and don't know how to fight". The Leafs Fan replied "Colton Orr does!" and laughed, along with the Habs fan. This made him rage. I could tell the Leafs vs Habs was friendly bickering, but this was intense. He was actually saying some really offensive things. I eventaully unmuted myself, and simply said 1812, and then muted myself. Everyone laughed, and then the Canadians asked why he was laughing. I had forgotten that, even though we burned there White House down, they were taught won 1812. In my opinion, it was a draw, but most saw it as a win for UK/Canada outside of the US. I mean, they certainly didn't win, we controlled Washington for a while. Jokingly, one of the Canadians agreed to do some matches against him, claiming whoever won that match won 1812. Stupid, yet funny. I was there to fight for Canada, so one by one, we fought. I and the Leafs fan beat the American, but the Habs fan lost, nearly beating him. He left without saying a word. That was by far, my best memory of Injustice.
Anyways, being a Canadian gamer can be interesting, yet it is very fun. To all, have a happy Canada day.
And here's to hoping for a Canadian Game Exchange episode soon! :D
